Islanders land North Dakota star Nelson (AP)

The leading scorer for the University of North Dakota hockey team is turning pro. Sophomore Brock Nelson, 20, has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the NHL's New York Islanders and will forgo his final two years of college eligibility. Terms were not disclosed by the team. He will start his pro career in the minors.
