No. 1 Star: Ilya Kovalchuk, New Jersey Devils Kovalchuk scored a goal in every period as the New Jersey Devils ran over the New York Islanders in a 5-1 victory. The hat trick gave Kovalchuk 4 goals in his last 2 games after going 9 games without, but just prior to that drought, he had registered a hat trick, so he actually has 7 goals in his last 11 games. How's that for a misleading stat? No. 2 Star: Ilya Bryzgalov, Philadelphia Flyers Bryzgalov made a HuMANgous big 28 saves in the Flyers' 5-0 rout over the Florida Panthers, causing the same fans that were booing him a month ago to start chanting "Bryz! Bryz! Bryz!" (Only one syllable for now. Baby steps.) It was Philadelphia's 5th straight win in Bryzgalov's 10th straight start. Claude Giroux and Danny Briere had two assists apiece.

Lehner steps in to lead Senators (AP)

Erik Karlsson has turned his recent scoring slump into a distant memory. Karlsson had two assists in Ottawa Senators' 5-2 win over the New York Islanders on Sunday, giving him 17 points in his last five games. In the five games before his hot streak, Karlsson a single goal. His two assists Sunday gave him 65 points and the record for most points in a season by a Senators' defenseman.

No. 1 Star: Erik Karlsson, Ottawa Senators On the day his owner said he has the potential to be an all-time great defenseman, Karlsson posted two goals and two assists in a 6-0 thumping of the New York Islanders. He opened the scoring off an Islanders turnover, scoring off a bad angle. His second goal later in the period was a snipe from the slot. He assisted on goals by Brian Lee and Jason Spezza in the third. Karlsson was a plus-4. No. 2 Star: Eric Staal, Carolina Hurricanes The Canes captain led his team to a 5-0 humbling of the Washington Capitals. He assisted on Anthony Stewart's goal at 5:09 of the first on a nice passing play that ended Tomas Vokoun's night. He scored on a shorthanded breakaway in the second period, and closed out the scoring with goal No. 18 in the third.
