Doug Weight hangs up his skates (The Edmonton Journal)
Former Edmonton Oilers captain Doug Weight retired on Thursday after 19 NHL seasons, eight wearing the Oil drop on his chest. Weight had 577 points in 588 games as an Oiler after joining the team in 1993. He was traded to Edmonton from the New York Islanders for Esa Tikkanen.
